About E-Volunteering


Cuso International’s e-volunteering program welcomes new and returning volunteers to work with our international program partners and volunteers remotely. E-Volunteering offers many of the benefits gained from international volunteering, while having the extra advantage of fitting into one's regular weekly schedule without needing a passport. Contributing and giving back to a community, gaining new skills, and making new connections are common benefits of e-volunteering and for Cuso International it is a great opportunity to engage more people in its mission.  

E-Volunteers are expected to supply their own basic home office equipment, Internet and have a moderate knowledge of computer technology. Some of our partners are located in remote areas with unreliable internet connection. In addition, for some of our partners, this is their first experience working with e-volunteers so flexibility and patience is a valuable e-volunteer characteristic.

E-Volunteers spend approximately 3-4 months in a placement and spend 2-10 hours per week working as an e-volunteer depending on the project requirements.

The E-Volunteer’s Role


Our partner Professional Alliance for Development (PADet) is seeking a passionate e-volunteer with an eye for detail and flair for writing. As a Resource Mobilization Advisor, you will support in reviewing and developing PADET's promotional materials to enhance their visibility and appeal to donors. Materials may include articles, briefs, social media and web content.

As an e-volunteer, you will:

-Support in reviewing and developing PADET's promotional materials to enhance their visibility and appeal to donors.

-Review PADeT track records working in child protection, youth livelihood and women rights.

-When available, review the 2019 annual report.

-Edit selected case stories.

-Establish links with donors/supporters (including foundations)

-Provide other related advice or support including any useful tips in conducting effective public relations and resource mobilization.

Essential Academic Qualifications:

-A degree or diploma in public relations, fundraising or a related discipline.

Essential Professional Background:

-Experience developing promotional and fundraising-specific materials.

-Experience developing web and social media content. Experience administrating/editing web and social media platforms (asset).

-Attention to detail.


About Our Partner


Professional Alliance for Development (PADeT)

Professional Alliance for Development (PADeT) is a local NGO implementing community based development interventions in Amhara, Oromia and Afar Regional States since 1998. It is registered with the MOJ as a charity with the Charities and Societies Agency. Since its establishment, PADet has been implementing various development programs impacting the wellbeing of children, women and youth in target areas. The organization has four strategic objectives:

- Sexual and Reproductive Health,

- HIV/AIDS prevention and care,

- Livelihood promotion and

- Child protection.

PADet is also member of various networks and consortiums at regional and national level of which CORHA, PANE and CCRDA are the major ones. Such forums are also used to share and learn experiences from others.
